Ever since the Family Conference, an immense change has taken place inside of the Youth Fellowship. There has been an overall feeling that with God and our own hard work, we will be able to lead not only ourselves, but other Youth Fellowships in Mar Thoma Churches across the nation. We have recommitted ourselves to following our mission statement of witness, worship, study and service. Furthermore, the youth has agreed that it is essential that we serve others less fortunate than ourselves. In response to this commitment, the youth visited a local outreach ministry organization located in San Jose. As we walked into the doors of City Team Ministries, we were able to see who we were directly impacting. The hall was flooded with men of all ages that were in need. The youth went straight to work, doing many tasks including: sweeping and moping the floors of the hall, cutting vegetables, cracking eggs into a giant barrel, making one hundred peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and sorting out the pantry. Almost twenty youth members attended this event. The manager of City Team ministry said that our Youth was the most effective group of volunteers that he has ever had, and expressed that he would like us to revisit the facility. The Youths left City Team with an overall feeling of hope. We directly impacted the people of San Jose. We are still committed to help others, and are finding new avenues to improve the lives of others around us.
Our praise and worship team went to Evergreen Valley High School in San Jose (for a second time) to participate in their Christian Club's Praise Night.
